Yes — the Free tier gives you 5 stories a month: picture books for ages 2 to 7 and Kid Reads stories at every reading level. You can save 2 characters, and each story stars 1 of them. No credit card required, and you can see exactly what the app does before deciding to upgrade. Explainer Mode and Choose Your Adventure come with token packs or a subscription. Chapter books (and so stories for ages 8 to 12), the colouring-book style, browsing the Community, narration and KDP publishing are Creator and Publisher features.

Token packs are pay-as-you-go: buy tokens once, use them whenever. They're a good fit if you read stories occasionally or want to try the paid experience without a recurring charge. Tokens unlock Explainer Mode and Choose Your Adventure, and raise your cast to two characters. The Creator plan is unlimited stories for a flat monthly or annual fee — much better value if you read stories regularly — and it adds chapter books, the colouring-book style, the Community, narration, KDP publishing and a cast of four, none of which token packs include.

No. Token packs never expire. Once purchased, your tokens are available in your account indefinitely.

Yes. Every plan can share stories to the Community (each is moderated first), and every plan is rewarded for it. Free and Token users earn 1 free story generation for every 2 stories shared — up to 2 a month, 10 over the life of the account.

Creator and Publisher users earn 1 bonus KDP export for every 10 stories shared — up to 2 a month. The reward is granted the first time each story goes live after passing moderation.

Character add-on packs are permanent purchases attached to your account, not your subscription. If you cancel your Creator subscription, the extra character slots remain — they'll be available immediately when you resubscribe. While on the Free tier, your characters are safely stored but you won't be able to create new ones beyond the Free tier's 2-character limit.

Yes — the annual plan ($89.99 CAD) is charged as a single payment at the start of each billing year. It saves you roughly 25% compared to the monthly plan. You can switch between monthly and annual billing at any time from your account settings.

Yes. Every new Creator or Publisher subscription, monthly or annual, comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee: email us within 14 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full and move your account to the Free plan. Stories you've shared to the Community stay in your library; the rest are archived and come back if you subscribe again. Your characters are kept, though on the Free plan you can't add more than 2. After those 14 days you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the billing period, but unused time is not refunded.
