InkStak for teachers and homeschoolers

Teachers and homeschooling parents use InkStak to make decodable readers for the lesson a child is on, Explainer stories that answer a question, and printable stories and coloring pages. Children never need an account. A grown-up makes the story and prints or shares it.

What it is good for

  • A reader for this week’s lesson. Kid Reads uses only the patterns taught up to the lesson you choose, and starring a student or the class pet makes it the story they ask to read again.
  • A story that explains. Explainer stories turn a question, like why the sky is blue, into an illustrated story at the right age.
  • Something to print. Word and PDF on every plan; coloring pages from the same story on Creator and Publisher.
  • A series over a term. The same characters carry across stories and into chapter books.

What it is not

InkStak does not teach lessons, track progress or manage a class. It has no student accounts. Pair it with the program you already use.

Cost

5 stories a month, free forever, no credit card, including Kid Reads. Creator is $9.99 CAD a month for unlimited stories, or $5.99 CAD for 10 tokens if you only need a few. See pricing.

Privacy: children have no accounts, personal information is not sold, and stories are not used to train AI without your consent. See the about page and privacy policy.

Questions people ask

Yes. A teacher makes the stories and prints or shares them. There are no student accounts, and InkStak does not track students.

Kid Reads has four levels aligned to the UFLI Foundations scope and sequence (lessons 1–98), with a slider for the exact lesson. If your program follows a different order, match by the sound patterns.

Not at present. Individual plans are on the pricing page; the free plan makes 5 stories a month.
